In publisher's original acetate dust jacket. Publisher's Blurb: In Air: 24 Hours, Jennifer Bartlett creates her most personal paintings, all made between 1991 and 1992. Here, in each work, the unflinching presence of time is carefully, conspicuously monitored by a clock - light gray for day, dark gray for night. But motifs, color combinations, even certain images variously recur throughout the 24 paintings, shaking us up, causing us to realize that even the most seemingly casual, intimate scenes (a child's bedroom, a bathroom, the garden fish...

Mountain Water Series n. V
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This is a series of five original photo based drawing and painting created on layered mylar as a negative to create the glowing images. The final piece is printed onto archival pigment paper. - Series of 5 original images - Edition of 3 - Signed and numbered by artist - Image dimensions 24" (h) x 19.8" (l); paper size: 30" (h) x 20"(l) - Unframed print - framing available upon request This technique was used to create an art exhibit installed at Los Angeles' Hammer Museum. Christine Nguyen is a Los Angeles based artist. She received her B.F.A from California State University, Long Beach and M.F.A from University of California, Irvine. As an artist, she is inspired by literature, science, nature, astronomy, geology, marine biology. The layering of works, creating depth, process and nature are important elements of her work . For example, salt crystallization has been used on found objects and encrusted on photo based works on paper. The salt crystallization process is similar to preserving some objects, while disintegrating others with time. By incorporating salt crystals onto the photo based paintings, the image presents a mystical otherworldly feel, capturing and refracting light and the slippage of time. Using photography’s processes as a point of departure, Christine Nguyen’s pioneering spirit led her to begin manipulating negatives and onward–creating her own by cutting, layering, and adding on. Nguyen’s subsequent explorations embrace drawing...

China (gorgeous silkscreen on lanaquarelle from renowned artist's map series)
Located in New York, NY
Paula Scher China, 2013 Hand pulled silkscreen on deluxe Lanaquarelle paper 24 3/5 × 28 1/5 inches Edition of 95 Pencil signed and numbered on the front Unframed Paula Scher Biography Renowned graphic designer and artist Paula Scher's silkscreen China, from her map series, represents a subjective take on the country’s superpower status. Through the visual vibrancy of information overload in the print, Scher captures the swift transformations taking place in a country steeped with a rich cultural and historical fabric. The multi-directional, scrawled names of sites and statistics speaks to China’s complicated history, from its imperial age of dynasties and warlord conquests, to the violent tumult of its communist conversion. Paula Scher is one of the most influential graphic designers in the world. Described as the “master conjurer of the instantly familiar,” Scher straddles the line between pop culture and fine art in her work. Iconic, smart, and accessible, her images have entered into the American vernacular. Scher has been a partner in the New York office of Pentagram since 1991. She began her career as an art director in the 1970s and early 80s, when her eclectic approach to typography became highly influential. In the mid-1990s her landmark identity for The Public Theater...
