About the Artist:
Phillip A. Harrington was born in 1920 and grew up in Holland, Michigan. He developed an interest in photography at an early age, joining the high school camera club at 16. At the age of 19, Harrington moved to New York City to study at the Clarence. H. White school of photography, a prestigious institution with graduates such as Margaret Bourke-White, Dorothea Lange, Laura Gilpin, and Ralph Steiner. Harrington studied under Clarence White, Jr., who described Harrington as being among the school’s best students.

Gleb Alexandrovich Savinov was born in Ukraine and spent part of his childhood in Saratov. His father, Alexander Ivanovich Savinov (1881–1942), a talented painter, draftsman and teacher, was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1922 they moved from Saratov to Petrograd. In 1928-1930 Savinov started working in the studio of his father while still attending school. In 1934, after graduating from high school he enrolled at the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where he studied with, among many others, Alexander Osmerkin. In 1940 Savinov graduated and married his classmate and talented artist Olga Bogaevskaya. This happy family and creative union lasted sixty years. Since that year Gleb Savinov participated in art exhibitions with portraits, historical and genre paintings, landscapes, interior scenes, still lives. Claus Sievert, (American, 1949–2009) nicknamed “The Tree Guy," was a German-born American printmaker and illustrator, who studied etching in an art college in Brunswick, Germany, in 1971. He began his career as an art teacher in Germany, teaching printmaking, art history, advertising design, and visual communication, and became a full-time artist in 1981.
Sievert created limited-edition etchings from copper plates and a hand-turned press which he then individually hand-colored.
Sievert’s work won awards, illustrated a children’s book by Leo Tolstoy, was commissioned by the Sierra Club and Golden Gate National Recreation Area to illustrate their publications, and he had his images published in several calendars. He was known for his prints highlighting forms and the beauty of nature. His art was also featured in Ansel Adams Gallery, Muir Woods...

Born in 1981, Elin Siân Blake began producing commissioned artwork from an early age, focussing on the traditional Welsh ponies and landscapes of her childhood. She was particularly inspired by the agricultural and equestrian events she attended. As a teenager she spent all her spare money on art supplies. Blake graduated from the University of Glamorgan in 2002 with a degree in graphic design and illustration, but quickly realised that she wanted to create conventional paintings, rather than producing digital images. This is a painting from my architectural series of works. I wanted to paint a twilight scene using deep rich colours against a beautiful lit up pool. A window depicting another world inside a modernist house reflecting interiors with warm and inviting colours. I am inspired by modern architecture as I love painting the straight lines against the softness of nature with its trees and plants and cactii. This painting is painted in oils on a thick painted edged canvas and is ready to hang.

Biography:
Thomas McKnight (born 1941) is a U.S. artist. He was born in 1941 in Lawrence, Kansas. He attended Wesleyan University, a small liberal arts college in Middletown, Connecticut, where he was one of only five art majors. He spent his junior year in Paris. After a year of graduate work in art history at Columbia University, in 1964 McKnight found a job at Time Magazine where he would work for eight years, interrupted by a two-year stint in the U. S. Army in South Korea. In 1972 McKnight left Time, summered on the Greek island of Mykonos, and commenced painting in earnest. In 1979 in Mykonos, McKnight met Renate, a vacationing Austrian student, and married the following year. Throughout the 1980s McKnight’s art, mainly limited edition serigraph prints, became increasingly popular. Lutz's 2007 ''Warhol Denied'' series gained international attention calling into question the importance of originality or lack thereof in the work of Andy Warhol. The authentication/denial process of the [[Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board]] was used to create value by submitting recreations of Warhol works for judgment with the full intention for the works to be formally marked "DENIED". The final product of the conceptual project being "officially denied" "Warhol" paintings authored by Lutz.
Based on a press photo painted by Pop Artist Andy Warhol in early 1960's, this is likely one of the most iconic images from his Death and Disaster Series. The Death and Disaster Series was a dark view of the time's media and death culture. This was a departure from Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans and portraits of Jackie Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, and Marlon Brando in that these were images of the deaths of everyday people- one could say their "15 minutes of fame" as Warhol coined...
