Shawn Krueger's "A Spring Thicket" is an original, handmade oil painting that depicts a green hillside covered with moss and the fresh lush growth of springtime plants.

With each subsequent exhibition, Green has expanded the botanical content from single trees, bushes and weeds to now entire gardens--teeming with growth and rich with animal and plant life. This painting is of a black swallowtail butterfly. The butterfly is painted larger than life to show all of the detail. It has a mystical quality as the butterfly seems to float above the garden with a few stars beginning to appear on a lavender sky.
