Fisherman with Nets at Villeneuve, Lake Geneva – Swiss School, Late 19th Century This atmospheric oil painting depicts a fisherman standing on the quiet shore of an Alpine lake, surrounded by large fishing nets stretched along the water’s edge. Beyond him, the lake opens onto an expansive mountain landscape, its distant peaks emerging through a delicate veil of bluish haze.
