Melanated Queen Mixed Media Painting, Expressionist, Unframed Art

By Abayomi Odetomi

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

"Melanated Queen" is more than just a painting; it's a tribute to the beauty that resides within melanin-rich individuals and an homage to the resilience of African queens throughout history. Odetomi expertly captures the essence of this woman, her features exuding confidence and pride. The warm, earthy tones used to depict her skin convey a sense of strength and natural beauty, while the rose flower ribbon symbolizes femininity and grace. The woman's posture in the painting is a testament to the empowerment of women, especially women of color. Her regal posture and unyielding gaze project an aura of self-assuredness, breaking free from the limiting stereotypes that have plagued the representation of African women in art for centuries. Odetomi's brushstrokes artfully depict the subtle yet powerful transformation of vulnerability into strength, revealing the queen-like qualities present within every woman. Central to the artwork is the rose flower ribbon adorning the woman's hair. The rose has long been associated with love, beauty, and passion, and its presence here infuses the painting with a sense of romance and elegance. Moreover, the rose flower ribbon serves as a symbol of the interconnectedness between nature and the woman's identity. It highlights the harmony she shares with the world around her, as well as her ability to nurture and cultivate beauty in her surroundings. Abayomi Odetomi...

"Take Your Pleasure Seriously" - Mixed Media Textured Collage Painting

By Cabell Molina

Located in West Hollywood, CA

This 36 inch square original mixed media painting on canvas is wired and ready to hang. Layers of patterned collage elements and acrylic paint bring this artwork to life. The layering and unique texture of colorful clippings and geometrical designs create a window looking into a luxurious escape perfect for any home or office. The sides of the artwork are painted and it does not require framing. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back of the artwork. Molina's work is influenced by her prior career as an advertising art director–but now her goal now is to sell perspective rather than product. In this series, Cabell reclaims classic femininity as multi-faceted, giving voice and texture to lost imagery. Her art pushes for colorful expansion of a “woman’s place” while it explores the complex dynamic of a woman’s emotions, celebrating the bygone glamour of mid-century fashion and deconstructing its patriarchal underpinnings. Cabell’s painting/collages read as meditations on the female experience and the pursuit for sovereignty in a historically male dominated culture. She studied graphic design, and fine art at San Diego State University and Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Her work has been featured in NYT The Cut, CNN Style, and Vogue, as well as shown in multinational galleries and can be found in private collections around the world. A worthless painting is stolen and Batman and Robin summon The Flash and Superman to help capture the thief while "G" the gopher practices his painting technique...____________ but why for a worthless painting.________________ to be continued. This one of a kind, work on canvas titled "Wild Day in Gotham" measures 42x30" framed, canvas size is 40x28". It combines images of Ceravolo's original super hero paintings with a mixture of images from vintage comic books. Once Ceravolo is satisfied with the composition he then prints the one of a kind image on canvas at his studio using pigmented inks and then adds hand work to the art with spray paint, acrylic and polymer. Ceravolo's paintings are in many influential corporate and private collections, including: ELTON JOHN, ROD STEWART, HUGH M. Alea Pinar Du Pre's original mixed media artworks portray human figures in a graphic pop-realist style. An enterprising autodidact merging technology and fine art, her vibrant contemporary pop-figurative artworks colorfully explore the territory between human reality and artificial reality. Her paintings portray the fact that our perceptions of solid reality are deceptively virtual. This unique collage is a part of her "Snapshot" series, as she explains: "We consist of the same atoms, created billions of years ago in a supernova. And here we are living and breathing and experiencing life, and we think we are all so different. I think we are all the same, it’s just that are masks and poses are different. I love humanity and this game we are playing. With snapshot, I am trying to capture the unawareness of the fact that we are the greatest wonder of the universe". This one-of-a-kind 47 inch high by 62 inch wide artwork depicts the portrait of a female figure. Pinar Du Pre's fusion of materials - acrylics, printed elements, and layers of gilt captured under an epoxy lens - represents the layered reality she aims to depict. The sides of this canvas are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. Pinar Du Pre has signed, titled, and dated this original artwork on the back of the canvas. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Building on the synthetic intensity of digital art, her figurative style depicts a familiar but warped daily life. Alea Pinar Du Pre has been influenced deeply by the traditional fine art and design practices of Kunstlerhaus and Wiener Werkstaette, two artist societies with roots in Vienna, Austria. Paying tribute to her main influences, Alea describes her style as "Jugendstil Pop-Art". But where Pop art was stimulated by the iconography of materialism and the mass culture of its time, her vision is more intimate in its subversive intent. Alea Pinar Du Pre lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Her artworks are exhibited and collected in international hot spots across Europe, Asia, and North America. The artist states of her work: "My endless questioning the nature of our existence stems from an insatiable curiosity and an unfathomable love for truth. I believe in the sacredness of the human experience. Art is a canvas to mutate my curiosity into a form I can share—to transfer scientific curiosity into pictures—to give form to the formless.” Artplex Gallery has been representing and exhibiting Alea Pinar Du Pre's original artworks in Los Angeles since 2018, presenting her impressive works to an international collector base around the globe. The gallery has been a 1stdibs partner since 2014 with consistently excellent reviews from clients worldwide.
