A gold-black, vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian reading wall lamp, light made of handcrafted polished brass, designed and produced by Stilnovo in good condition. The round lacquered aluminum shade is supported by a flexible stem, beam halted by two adjustable arms, featuring a one light socket. Signed, marked Stilnovo. Brevettato Patent. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. circa 1950 - 1960, Milan, Italy. Measures : Base: 11.75" H x 1.25" W Shade: 6" H x 15" diameter. Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946, in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century Modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period.
