At the age of 11, Seguso started training and working as a glassmaker at his father's glass company. Later on, circa in 1930, he took over the family business, named Seguso Vetri d'Arte. During this time he studied the 16th century styles, such as filigrana glass, colorless blown glass, genetic manipulation of glass canes to give the form of linear patterns and plume glass, delicate, fine feather-plume glass shapes. Beautiful and large, vintage Murano hand blown Italian art glass clear glass sail with topaz gray boat sculpture. The sailboat is fully signed underneath, "Archimede Seguso Murano (Italy)". The piece has done in the Minimalism style. Very clean lines and design. The signature is acid etched on the bottom of the boat. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table or credenza.
