Arthur Woelfle was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on December 17, 1873. He studied art at the Brooklyn Institute, National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. Woelfle later studied in Paris and at the Munich Academy. He eventually held several teaching positions around Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. He also exhibited in numerous art shows and associations. Woelfle became well known for his portraits, still lifes, landscapes and mural paintings.
