Auguste Bigand son of Pierre-Louis Bigand and Marie-Sophie d'Alban, was a painter of history, religious compositions and portraits. He was born in Champlan, France, in 1803. As a pupil of Louis Hersent, he exhibited for the first time at the Salon of 1834.
