Crispijn van de Passe was a Dutch engraver, painting, drawer and miniaturist. He was the father of Simon, Willem, Magdalena and Crispijn II and a pupil of Dirck Coornhert. He realized portraits for the European nobility but also engravings with religious and mythological subjects. His style is influenced by Sten Adamsen and he belonged to the School of Haarlem.
