Etienne Poirier Art

1919-2002
Poirier Etienne, French Painter (1919-2002). Born in Bourg de Thizy (Rhone - France), September 27th, 1919. Died, October 12th, 2002. Education: National School of Fine Arts, Ecole du Louvre, Free School of Political Science in Paris. Career: Painter (since 1944), exhibited at "The Young Painting" at the Drouant-David Gallery, and participated at the Exhibition "The less than thirty" in 1948, participated in the exhibitions of the museums in Liege and Verviers (Belgium) who acquire some of his paintings (1949). He was initiated to the tapestry with Jean Picart Le Doux (1950), exhibited at "Tapestry-Poetry-Music, The French Thought" (1952) and at "Tapestries 58" pavilion de Marsan (1958). His career is also international with exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York, Berlin, London, Japan, and in over forty cities in The United States. Member of "The French Artists Salon", "The Autumn Salon", "The May Salon", and member of the Association of Tapestry-Cartonniers painters. Started creating in 1963, engraved panels with Fine gold exhibited in several French and foreign galleries and adapted to sacred art in many churches and cathedrals. He was also involved in creating jewelry and precious metal objects (1977).
