Granville Beals was born and raised in Glens Falls, New York. As a teenager, he moved to New York City, where he received a Ford Foundation Scholarship to study and train at New York City Ballet’s School of American Ballet. The choreography of lines and the dynamics of negative space are elements that inform Beals’ work. Beals’ work is held in both private and public collections. His public sculptures can be found in California, New York and internationally.
