American, 1933-2014
Howard Behrens was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1933. He earned a master's degree in painting & sculpture from the University of Maryland, College Park. He developed a method for creation that combined travel, sketching, fine art photography and painting. Behrens' style got thicker and thicker and heavier and heavier with the use of his palette knife. Eventually, he said of his artwork being a creation of paintings that integrate what he calls, "big, juicy chunks of paint." He died in 2014 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.to

Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There was a nick in the lower left side of frame that we have filled and touched up.
