French, b. 1961
Jacques Owczarek’s sculptures oscillate between figuration and abstraction, redefining the genre of animal sculpture. In his bronze bestiary, the artist favours purity of form, synthesising it in a distinct, highly original style. He allows himself to be guided by his intuitions, creating animals with dynamic, geometric lines that give an impression of movement to static matter. Jacques Owczarek has exhibited at some of the most prestigious international shows and fairs for almost 20 years.
