Dr. Julius Richter, was a physician, surgeon and educator. He was born on December 19, 1876, in Alleghany, Pennsylvania. He was educated in Buffalo public schools; the College of Commerce and Central High School; in 1904, he graduated from the University at Buffalo and received the degree of M.D. For one year he was an intern at the Evangelical Hospital. He then was General and Orthopedic Surgeon to the New York Post‐Graduate Hospital and private instructor in Surgery to J.J. McGrath. He served as a lecturer about Anatomy in Art, Albright‐Knox Art School, Buffalo, New York, 1924–34. Richter studied art with Volney A. Richardson, Mildred C. Green, Emile Gruppe. He was a member of the Medical Society‐County of Erie, National Academy of Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Buffalo Society of Art, Buffalo Pr. Cl., American Physicians Art Association and others. He exhibited at Albright A. Gal.; City AM., St. Louis; Buffalo Soc. Art, Am. Physicians Exh., annually; Buffalo SA, annually. Awards won by him were "Print of the Year" 1950; medal, Buffalo Soc. A., 1945.
