Wonderful vintage Ringmaster: The Circus Game, produced by Cadaco-Ellis of Chicago, circa 1947. #5514
This complete mid-century American board game features exceptionally colorful circus-themed graphics depicting a traditional ringmaster surrounded by clowns, a performing seal, horse and rider, elephant, lion and classic big-top imagery. The bold illustrated box makes the game as appealing as a decorative object as it is a collectible piece of vintage gaming history.
The game is a complete set and has been used. At some point after use, the entire game and original box were shrink-wrapped for protection and preservation. The shrink wrap remains in place and the game is being offered exactly as found. This is not original factory shrink wrap and the game is not being represented as unopened or unused.
The original box displays authentic age and use, including rubbing, edge and corner wear, small areas of surface loss and other expected signs of handling. These imperfections contribute to the wonderful vintage character of this nearly 80-year-old game.
A terrific example of postwar American commercial illustration, vintage toy design and circus Americana. Particularly attractive displayed on a bookshelf, coffee table, game table or alongside a collection of vintage toys, circus memorabilia...
