It is one more effort to reach the core, the essence of the nature of light and colour which actually is the essence of the substance ascribed to the job to which the painter is doomed. What I have in mind is the paint flowing across the canvas – its liquid structure which, shaped sparingly by the will of a noble tool, as well as the force of gravity, sometimes happens to become a universal message. One can recognise this message by its sound, accompanied by one’s being particularly moved.
