Fine quality antique oil painting by the much admired and celebrated British artist Prudence Turner (1930-2007).
Prudence Turner was born on the 15th March 1930 in India and lived in London. She developed a gift for painting at a very early age, her first recognition being at the age of four when she competed in a national competition against an eleven to fourteen age group.
Although mainly self-taught she lived and studied in many countries, including Egypt, India, and France.
Her talent covers a wide field, including portraits, abstract, and landscape, both factual and fantasy.
This particular painting captures this idyllic sunset view of the famous and beautiful mountains in Scotland. The title on the back 'Wester Ross Loch Torridon' references an exact hidden spot - Wester Ross is synonym for remote, lonely, beautiful and wild. It’s an area of outstanding natural beauty situated between Loch Carron in the south, Loch Broom and Ullapool in the north and Achnasheen in the east.
Wester Ross is unspoilt and there are areas where visitors are seldom seen such as the Letterewe Estate north of Loch Maree...
