Ricky Cohete Figurative Photography
b. 1985
Ricky Cohete was born in a coastal city in Ecuador, but mainly, grew up in Miami. Florida’s light was what drew him in to explore photography. A self-taught artist, while photographing the ballet dancers in the city of Miami, Cohete started dedicating more time to the male form. Inspired by the mythology in tarot culture and astrology, Cohete has incorporated certain of those elements throughout his oeuvre. Lately, Cohete has self-published a photography book that included. short poems and sketches titled Blanco.

Working with them outside of their safe space (rehearsal studio) and taking them outside, on sand or water, creating a dynamic that kept giving birth to new compositions. Inspired by the mythology of tarot culture and astrology, he has incorporated some of these elements throughout his work.
