Beautiful, and large, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso light blue over cobalt blue Italian art glass giraffe figure sculpture. The piece is documented to the Salviati company, circa 1960s. It is published in "The Glass Ark" book on Murano glass animals. The piece has a well detailed head, with floppy ears and "ossicones" (the parts that look like horns on the head). The body itself is very minimalistic and streamline. The giraffe is also made with some Uranium / UV reactive glass, as It glows neon green under a black light (see photo).
