This Caviuna Record Player was produced by Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte in the 1950s, whose designs were made by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler. This typology was part of the storage furniture from the period, appearing in several interior projects published in the most known design and lifestyle magazines. Tait "A Record, being his life, letters & golfing diary" The book was published in three bindings: in both red and green decorative cloth and in red decorative vellum. This is a hard bound copy with the original red cloth cover with gilt title to front with a gilt image of a golf bag and clubs with a sword. Spine with gilt title 'F.G. Tait "A Record", J.L.Low, Nisbet & Co.'. The cover in reasonable condition for age (see images) all 304 pages are there, printed in London. Illustrated with 16 plates (with tissue-guards) from photographs, including frontispiece photogravure portrait of Tait with facsimile autograph. The present illuminated folio page contains a fine miniature depicting three figures hunting while on horseback, an image meant to accompany a historic epic. During the medieval period, hunting was an important pastime of male nobility throughout the Islamic world. The Quran itself explicitly endorses hunting and the use of animals to aid in capturing prey: "Lawful to you are foodstuffs that are good to eat and any game that, at your wish, is captured by beasts of prey which train as you do dogs, according to the method that Allah has taught you, after you have spoken the name of Allah over it." Polo, also called 'chagun,' was the sport of kings and princes of central Asia and Iran, and the sport probably originated there in the 6th century BCE. Polo matches appear in a large number of early Persian texts, including in the writings of the 10th century epic writer Abu l-Qasim al-Firdawsi: He describes numerous polo matches in his famous 'Shahnameh' (The Persian Book of Kings).
