Tatiana Levchenko Figurative Paintings

For me, the creative process is not an aesthetic act, but rather research. I have been looking for my own way to reconstruct the spiritual body. For years I have been employing two creative methods that I would, following Wassily Kandinsky, call "impressions" and "improvisation". I love working from nature while allowing myself a certain state of freedom from the necessity of literally documenting what I see, nonetheless, my presence at a sight at a moment remains its great importance. Wassily Kandinsky in his work Concerning the Spiritual in Art calls these states "impressions". I get inspired by the texture and energy of the human body, its gracefulness, and the pulsation of a biological form. At such a moment, I work under the impression of momentary emotions, trusting in gesture, in my mood, and my sense of color. The second approach is psychological diving, when I immerse myself in my intuitive, letting my hand follow up the spontaneous and visualizing it. Kandinsky defines this method as "improvisation". For me, the bizarre interaction of social stereotypes, behavior patterns, and natural reactions in the depth of the human subconscious remains a mystery. Where is a genuine me? How much "white" and how much "black" are inside my consciousness? What is the dark side of my nature? How to distinct my true nature from a product of upbringing, of the traditions of my family, the society, the era? Maybe this "black" side is not so awful as it is widely assumed, but, on the contrary, the most valuable le noir gilt, the most precious gift, and this "white" cannot be taken as my identity at all, but barely as a matrix, a mold created by the social system? In my creative practice, I work on solving this problem primarily for my own self utilizing various techniques and materials. Even working in the open air, I try finding out about the inner, hidden structure of the surrounding space…

Winter is coming
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
"Winter is Coming" is an artwork that conjures a sense of anticipation, foreboding, and transformation. The title itself evokes the imagery of the changing seasons and the imminent arrival of winter, a time often associated with cold, stillness, and introspection. The artwork may depict various visual elements that represent the transition into winter. It could showcase barren trees, falling leaves, or a landscape covered in a blanket of snow. The artist may use a subdued color palette, capturing the muted tones and ethereal atmosphere of the season. Through "Winter is Coming," the artist may explore the deeper symbolism associated with winter. It can represent the passage of time, the cycles of nature, and the inevitability of change. The artwork may serve as a reminder that just as winter arrives, so too do periods of challenge, introspection, and personal growth in our own lives. Moreover, "Winter is Coming" invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences and emotions connected to the season. It may evoke feelings of nostalgia for cozy moments by the fireplace, the beauty of snow-covered landscapes, or the introspection that winter's stillness brings. It also prompts contemplation on the resilience and adaptability required to navigate life's challenges. The artwork may inspire viewers to embrace the transformative power of winter, acknowledging that even in the harshest of seasons, there is beauty and potential for renewal. It encourages us to find solace and strength in the quieter moments, to reflect on our journeys, and to prepare ourselves for the opportunities that lie ahead. "Winter is Coming" is an artwork that captures the essence of transition, introspection, and the cyclical nature of life. It prompts reflection on the beauty and challenges associated with the arrival of winter, both in the natural world and within our own lives. The artwork serves as a reminder to embrace change, find resilience, and discover the hidden wonders that lie within the quieter moments of our journey. - Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. This expansive blue sky we all share is a global symbol of togetherness. It was set in motion by a group of women in Afghanistan ready to be heard. A surprising 1500 more brave women joined to begin the Blue Scarf movement. In 2009, thousands more women joined the movement with organizing help from Unifem.
