Theron Trombeau, an Alamogordo, New Mexico artist, once drove a Model T Ford from California to Kansas in 1924. He painted along the way. He was a member of the Alamogordo Art Association. Trombeau was the owner and director of the Sleepy Burro School of Art, which was established in La Luz, New Mexico, in 1955.
