Wladimiro Tulli was born in 1922, Macerata, Italy. Tulli was an Italian painter and author of works belonging to the second Futurism and Abstract art. He began his activity around 1938, initially fascinated by his fellow citizen Ivo Pannaggi and by other futurists of the time, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti above all, while after the war he approached abstract art, establishing contacts and relationships with the major abstractionists of the moment like Alberto Burri. In 1953, he joined the Numero group in Florence and thanks to it he began to travel the world and to exhibit some of his works in great museums until he became an active member of the Eclats group in Paris. In 1962, together with other artists, he was in the Levante group of Macerata. He has made frescoes, murals, graffiti and decorations in various cities, including his native Macerata, Bologna, San Benedetto del Tronto, Ascoli Piceno, Teramo and Rimini.

This is one of his famous "comb" or "fork" works that he perfected in the 1950s and continued to create for the remainder of his life. The blocks of primary red and yellow colors give a bright, joyful feel and contrast to the strong bold black that was Capogrossi's consistent color for the "combs".
