Yasemin Kackar Demirel is an emerging Turkish artist. She was born in Istanbul in 1978, received her MFA in DeKalb (IL), and currently lives in New York. Her work is a fragmented and reconstructed journey through the places she has lived and traveled, both real and imagined. She has a strong use of color and mediums incorporating acrylic, ink, pen, graphite, pastels, watercolors and spray paint into her artwork. Yasemin has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the US and Turkey. Her work is also in the Ipek-Ahmet Merey Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey.

Yasemin Kackar Demirel is a Turkish artist. She was born in Istanbul, received her MFA in DeKalb (IL), and currently lives in New York. Her work is a fragmented and reconstructed journey through the places she has lived and traveled, both real and imagined. She has a strong use of color and mediums incorporating acrylic, ink, pen, graphite, pastels, watercolors and spraypaint into her artwork.
According to Yasemin, her latest Gaps series: “Movement in architecture and in nature are compelling to me. I view a world within continuous social and political conflicts and struggles, and reflecting upon this movement is freeing to me. This is a controlled freedom. I explore the ways in which emotional and physical balance, safety and stability can be maintained. I base this cyclical quest on replanning and abstracting the existing structure and geometry of sites and vistas.
