Marea Clark Interiors is a San Francisco-based interior design firm that specializes in timeless residential design, unifying the unique, traditional sensibilities of the South with a tranquil and relaxed West Coast eye.
The firm’s principal, Marea Clark, leads the creative direction of each project with a balanced emphasis on elegance, comfort, and functionality. Guided by her cultivated expertise and creative background, Clark’s projects embrace the worlds of fine art, antiques, and contemporary design. Always through an artistic lens and understanding of modern living, MCI brings charming and inventive interiors to life from coast to coast.
Raised in Kentucky in a home surrounded by horse fields, Clark grew up around the casual elegance of southern culture, inspired by family members immersed in creative ventures and artistic pursuits. She attended the University of Kentucky, graduating with a degree in Interior Design and Fine Art with a concentration on painting. In 2006, Clark moved to the West Coast, holding early-career positions under the design industry’s most respected firms for more than a decade before establishing her firm.
Clark launched her eponymous studio in San Francisco in 2016 and developed strong connections with makers, artisans, and design professionals throughout California. The studio operates out of an early-1900s building in the city’s Russian Hill neighborhood, where a team of passionate, collaborative designers bring client wishes to life. The firm’s work has been featured by the country’s leading interior design publications, including Architectural Digest, Veranda, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
When Marea isn’t working with clients that span from Palo Alto to Southampton, she’s adventuring with her husband Matt and their three kids.
