Rick Shaver and Lee Melahn are the principals behind Pleasant Living, LLC, a design firm concentrating on interiors and furniture design for over a quarter of a century. Since their inception their design net has been cast out to include projects extending from coast to coast in the continental United States.
Their services range from complete interior architectural installations to decorating projects under a philosophy that their final designs reflect the lifestyle and needs of their clients rather than a signature design formula. Their designs have been likened to an “Armani suit with a GAP t-shirt”, comfortable elegance that defies trends
The design and production of Shaver/Melahn’s furniture is approached in the same spirit. Attention to detail and impeccable craftsmanship using indigenous materials and made in America, workmanship is the hallmark of their collections and custom-made pieces.
Their work has been seen in countless international and national publications including House Beautiful, Veranda, Ellle Decor and The New York Times and showcased at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House as well as other charitable venues including DIFFA 'Dining By Design' and The Bailey Hart House Annual Fundraiser.
