Over the years we have had the pleasure of owning and selling some truly beautiful antique boxes and this handcrafted jewelry box is right up there with the best. The exotic olive wood that was used to create this box comes with the most amazing natural grains and over the many decades it has grown the most beautiful patina as well. This rare and hard woodtype makes this a relatively heavy (for its size) box and the hardness of the wood makes the detailed oak leaf and acorn patterns on top extra impressive. We believe the particular design of these handcarved patterns may also symbolize the tree of life (an important symbol in many religions).
