This is an absolutely exquisite silver gilt and enamel box, with stamped silver import mark, and dated London 1928, with initials T.C. & Sn Ltd. In a fitted leather case with velvet and satin cream interior retailed by M.P. Levene, Jeweller of Kensington, London. The top lid of the box is finely decorated with a hand painted enamel scene of a couple in a romantic pose relaxing in woodland scenery by the river , with sheep in the background. The scene is surrounded by a rich border of white and blue foliate enamel. The sides and base are with similar guilloche enamel decoration. This is a rare opportunity to own such a magnificent piece.
