The story behind:
In 1928, Max Le Verrier designed after a live model, the famous CLARTÉ, a woman with a
illuminated ball - the main piece of his artistic work.
In fact, he needed three different models:
one for the head, one for the upper part of the body and one for the legs. For this last part he asked an African-American dancer...
