French Art-deco-orientalist Spelter of a Nude Young Maiden, Attributed to Hottot
By Louis Hottot
Located in Los Angeles, CA
An Imposing fine and large French Art-Deco Spelter (Petit-bronze) figure of a standing semi-nude orientalist maiden in a brown patina, attributed to Louis Hottot (French, 1834-1905). The smiling young topless beauty, posing with her arms outstretched, her hair wrapped with a headscarf centred with a green art-glass bead and a scantily scarf tied around her waist, standing barefoot among tropical shrubs and flowers and raised on a circular mottled green marble base. A brass plaque reads "TYPHA", Paris, circa 1900.
Louis Hottot was a French sculpture who mainly specialized in Orientalist female figures and other Orientalist subjects and themes, most of his works were produced in spelter. He exhibited his works at the Paris Salon from 1885 to 1898. Hottot is best known for his Orientalist-themed sculptures, including Almie du Caire, circa 1887 and Fille d'Egypte, circa: 1885. He was a member of the Socie´te´ des Artistes Franc¸ais.

Venini Murano Fulvio Bianconi Tiepolo Head Figurine
Located in Uccle, BE
The Commedia dell’arte figurines are one of Fulvio Bianconi's most characteristic productions for Venini.
Their creation can be dated around 1947-1948. The series, which originally consisted of twelve models, was exhibited at the 24th Venice Biennale in 1948.
It is important to see this series of figurines as a cartoonish reinterpretation of the figurines that were very popular on the island of Murano in the 1930s.
We recognize here the ironic touch of the work of Fulvio Bianconi who an illustrator was.
Fulvio Bianconi uses here for each figurine a different costume and mask, the base is always made of lattimo glass decorated for polychrome glass costumes.
Attitudes are also different for each character.
We rarely find the heads of these figurines which were rare productions and out of catalog.
Charming objects blown by masters outside the “regular” production.
We present here the head of Giangurgolo, a figurine which bore the reference 2900 in the Venini catalog.
The basic material of the lattimo glass head, the pink eyes...

Art Deco Lady Figurine Table Lamp Bronze Sculpture, French circa 1930
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a stunning figurine table lamp of a nude lady bronze Figurine sculpture made in France, circa 1930.
The figurine is heavy and made of bronze metal with good detail. It has been cold painted with a green colour which has worn away in places, showing a patinated bronze colour beneath. The lady is stood on a round ball above a shaped shell like base. The figure is holding the lamp above her head with the electric cable running into the base and vertically up her back to the lamp fitting above. A coloured spherical glass shade firmly sits in the dished support.
The light is currently fitted with a small bayonet fitting, the whole electrical fitting having been PAT tested for safety compliance in the UK. The fitting could easily be modified to suit the electricity supply of the country where it might be used .
This piece is typical of the Art Deco aesthetic, with the sleek lines of the nude girl figure holding the globe light above.
The lamp is in full working order.
This is a substantial heavy piece weighing about 2.5Kg unpacked.
Overall a beautiful original Art Deco Lady Figurine...
