A wonderful copper portrait bust sculpture resting on a walnut base. Signed on the underside of base, R. Kennedy, 1961. Good overall condition. Wear commensurate with age and use. Overall dark patina and some verdi gris oxidation. Measures: Approximately 15" high x 8.5" wide @ the shoulders x 10.5" deep. The walnut base measures approximately 6.75" x 12.5" x 3" high.
This sculpture comes from the Moody Family, who were descendants of Ashley T. Law. Law was a modern day Renaissance man. He fought in WWI (The Great War and The War to End All Wars), studied art and religion and became a missionary and a renown painter. He was also studied genealogy and was a writer of history.
