Top quality carved bust, signed by Antonio Frilli (1830-1902) of Firenze/Florence.
If you are a collector of antique and top-quality works of art then this hand carved and saint-like lady sculpture could be flying your way soon. The manner in which the 'hair veil' is draped over her head and underneith her chin is incredibly realistic. Only a true artisan and master carver is capable of creating such realistic details and it makes this striking lady look even more graceful and serene. Have you also noticed the Gothic rosettes and the Gothic church window-like decorations in the part of the dress that covers her upper body? These details too make us believe that this rare Frilli sculpture depicts a saint or biblical figure. Thanks to its durability this alabaster lady...
