About the Item

A large dinner service by John and William Ridgway, Sheldon, Staffordshire. Primarily in hexagonal shapes with gadrooned edges. Decorated in an Imari inspired pattern. Very good condition with no restoration. Important transfer printed mark in blue. Over 100 pieces in all including a large soup tureen with cover and stand (13.25" x 11.5" x 11.25" high), 36 dinner plates (9"), 16 soup plates (10.25"), 5 small platters in different sizes, 4 sauce tureens (2 with stands and covers--6.5" x 5.75" x 5.75" high), 2 large vegetable tureens with covers (10.5" x 10.5" x 6" high), large meat platter with matching drainer (15" x 13"), 3 oval vegetable dishes (one with cover--one @ 16.5" x 13.5"; 2 @ 14.5" x 12.5"), large platter (16.5" x 14.5"), smaller platter (15" x 13").
