A magnificent, fine and impressive, comprehensive antique George V English sterling silver Sandringham pattern flatware service for twelve persons - boxed; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection The pieces of this magnificent and comprehensive antique George V English sterling silver canteen of cutlery for twelve persons have been crafted in the Sandringham pattern. Each spoon and fork is embellished with a paralleling border to the handle, in addition to a pointed terminal. The original table and dessert knives, in addition to the fish service, fruit service and carving set all retain the original faceted Art Deco style mother of pearl handles; each with plain a ferrule. The bowls of the salt and mustard spoons retain the original gilding. A magnificent, fine and impressive set of three antique Georgian English sterling silver sugar and tea caddies - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection These magnificent, fine and impressive antique Georgian silver sugar and tea caddies each have an oblong shaped form. The surface of each antiquecaddy is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scroll and foliate decoration incorporating a stylised animalistic mask to the upper portion. The decoration to either side incorporates a scene depicting a woman arranging flowers, and the posterior surface bears a structure, all in the chinoiserie style. The anterior surfaces these antique tea caddies incorporate scroll and leaf bordered cartouches, each displaying a contemporary engraved coat of arms. The opposing scrolling lower portion of each caddy composes a shaped rim and foot. These caddies are fitted with the original hinged cast silver covers, ornamented with further foliate and floral decoration and surmounted with impressive floral finials. These Georgian silver tea caddies and sugar canister are fitted to the fine and impressive, original hinged wood and skin covered presentation casket, bearing the original velvet lined interior. The presentation box is fitted with the original silver escutcheon and carrying handle, in addition to four bracket style feet emanating from the corners. These magnificent silver boxes are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire. Condition These antique 18th century tea/sugar caddies are a magnificent gauge of silver, magnificent quality and in magnificent condition. The cast, embossed and chased decoration is very sharp and the engraved ornamentation is very crisp; the definition of these details indicates these caddies have seen little or no use. The original casket is distressed in keeping with age, however, remains in working condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddies are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the magnificent gauge of silver. A fine pair of antique Chamberlains Worcester cabinet plates having a pleasing Asian design of figures in a garden and gorgeous Imari colors, circa 1810. In 1783, Robert Chamberlain (c.1736–98), head of the decorating department for Dr John Wall at Warmstry House, left the company to start his own porcelain decorating business in King Street, Worcester. At first he bought blank undecorated porcelain from other factories such as Caughley in Shropshire, but by the late 1780’s he was making his own wares at a new factory site in Severn Street, Diglis. The Chamberlain factory quickly established an enviable reputation for the production of finely painted porcelain. Admiral Lord Nelson and his mistress Lady Hamilton visited Chamberlain’s factory in August 1802 and ordered an extravagant breakfast, dinner and dessert...

This is a hand blown, glass, cup and saucer made from an amethyst colored glass and dating to the English Georgian period, circa 1800. Georgian glass cups and saucers are unusual and hard to find. This one is particularly attractive being made of amethyst glass. The cup is free blown in the shape of a coffee can with a handmade loop handle.
