Please note the companion item to this is SKU 2040, which is depiction of a two birds in a tree nest created by the same artist. The hooked rugs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are made with recycled old material, often used clothing that had been cut into narrow stripes. The foundation of hooked rugs is generally burlap material which the maker uses the stenciling technique to transfer the pattern into the surface.
