With all its ancient and less ancient châteaux, its many Gothic churches and with all the monasteries, France is the country where most of the European Gothic Revival art and antiques were created. This sizeable, Medieval style chandelier is very impressive for two very good reasons. First of all, the design is unlike anything you ever saw. The five large and flying phoenix sculptures with their detailed wings, their long necks, their fierce looking heads and their pointy-flame-tails truly make this chandelier a work of lighting art.
