The designer and artist who created this Arts & Crafts work of lighting art must have been inspired by the wonderful colors that mother nature has to offer in the late afternoons and evenings in the summer. Especially the copper red light that the sun creates when disappearing under the horizon seems the source of inspiration for this artist. With the colors in this particular alabaster shade AND in the brass 'frame' corresponding with the marvelous colors at sundown this one of a kind pendant really is a joy to own and to look at. In our experience it is also at that time of day that swallows are the most active. Just like the embossed swallows in this shade we too have seen them circling above and around a swimming pool in the Canary Islands. By the way, the workmanship that has gone into hand-crafting this remarkable chandelier is of a level that you don't find anymore in this day and age. Never mind the amount of time it must have taken to first hand-draw and then completely hand-craft this gem. We have said it many times before and we will say it again here: both with the light switched on and off, the colors in this alabaster shade are much warmer and much more beautiful than in our photos. You can take our word for it. Because of the many colors and 'patches' one could also say that this pendant (when looking at it from different sides and angles) has many faces. That too is the beauty of surrounding yourself with truly natural materials.

I designed this for being placed above a kitchen island where it's at the best of use, having task light and movable arms and shades.
It would be great also over a counter, a dining table and a living room.
Arms are balanced with a heavy cast brass sphere and are rotating on the stem in an orbital movement.
In order to get perfect balancing the sphere is filled with sand to reach the point of no leverage.
Shades are in hand spun aluminum, lacquered with ivory powder paint with eggshell semi matte finish. Black is matte as that is the best with brass.
Shades are connected to the arm with a pivot joint to give different possibilities of light orientation.

Sistema Chandelier by Piattelli Design, 4-shade

This chandelier uses an ingenious rotating stem structure and features a shallow drum-shaped shade at the end of each arm.
They work well in any space and suit both regular and low-ceilinged rooms wonderfully.
The result is uniform lighting from above the dining table. There is nothing else like this on the market. There are beautiful chandeliers available, but they always tend to give out too much light in the center and too little on either side.
This is the smallest Sistema chandelier, with 2 arms and 4 shades. Ideal for a round or square dining table. It also works well over an island.
Each shade has two LED strips that can be lit separately. In this way you can have either a regular light or a stronger light depending on how you need to use the chandelier. The LEDs are top quality with a CRI of over 80. This ensures that the natural color of food and people can be seen perfectly. See the next to last photo, where there is some fruit and a color chart below the chandelier.
The LEDs are on a 24V direct current feed, so there is no flickering.
The arms can rotate 180 degrees, for many possible combinations. See the drawing for the two regular positions. The chandelier can also be rotated when it is lit.
The shades can be rotated on the arm axis to meet any lighting needs in a living room (paintings, bookshelves etc.). The shades have neutral white glass fixtures. Please see the photos.
On the back there is a smaller Lucite opening for giving ambient light.
The chandelier has the ingenious brass finishes of the orbitale collection.

Named for Ace Harper; artist, musician, fashion designer, mother and wife of iconic rock drummer Matt Sorum. From our Chief Luminary, Kelly Aaron: "I have been working closely with Ace & Matt on their family home in Palm Springs. Ace fell madly in love with our Fauchard floor lamp and asked if we could make it in wall sconce form. Serendipitously enough, we were already working on that very design! But Ace's enthusiasm was the impetus to get it off the drawing board and into prototyping. I named the sconce for Ace because, like her, it's classically beautiful, totally badass and turns heads in any room!"

A gold-black, vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian reading wall lamp, light made of handcrafted polished brass, designed and produced by Stilnovo in good condition. The round lacquered aluminum shade is supported by a flexible stem, beam halted by two adjustable arms, featuring a one light socket. Signed, marked Stilnovo. Brevettato Patent. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. circa 1950 - 1960, Milan, Italy.
