Amazing Gothic Revival Bronze Chandelier with Flying Phoenix Firebird Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
Large and remarkable, phoenix arms, five-light chandelier with unique, stylish and multi-colored alabaster shades. This rare and stunning antique chandelier is made in France and it embodies everything that European craftsmanship stood for in the early 1900s. With all its ancient and less ancient châteaux, its many Gothic churches and with all the monasteries, France is the country where most of the European Gothic Revival art and antiques were created. This sizeable, Medieval style chandelier is very impressive for two very good reasons. First of all, the design is unlike anything you ever saw. The five large and flying phoenix sculptures with their detailed wings, their long necks, their fierce looking heads and their pointy-flame-tails truly make this chandelier a work of lighting art. Secondly, when you realize that this chandelier is entirely handcrafted and put together with bronze parts only then you get an idea of the workmanship that it took to create this work of art. To make it even more impressive and special, this antique bronze light fixture...

French Art Deco fan shape frosted art glass + iron chandelier signed Noverdy
By Jean Noverdy
Located in New York City, NY
Lovely and delicate French Art Deco frosted art glass blossom chandelier signed Noverdy, France depose. Its distinctive design comprises four "V" shaped, fan like, jagged edged panels, each depicting stylized floral, scroll and leaf motifs, creating a natural and visually captivating setting. The chandelier frame is elegantly mounted by four decorated tubular bars held by a matching square canopy and features "les perles" which is beading that resembles a strand of pearls, all finished in its original light silver painted, hand forged iron with a martele surface finish. The motif showcasing a harmonious blend of artistic craftsmanship and functional design. The view from underneath appears like a blossoming flower or a floral bouquet. Art Deco, popular during the 1920s and 1930s, was known for its geometric shapes, bold colors, and intricate designs. The fixture holds both aesthetic and historical value, reflecting the design trends and craftsmanship of the Art Deco era in France. JEAN NOVERDY- During the early years of the Twentieth Century Jean Noverdy studied and worked at the Muller Frerès factory at Luneville, France. In 1925, Jean and his father René Drouhot acquired Verrerie des Vosges, a glass factory, and later expanded their enterprise by acquiring another glass factory and establishing their own glass studio in Dijon. The glass produced bore the signature "Noverdy" for Nouvelle Verrerie de Dijon. Noverdy produced at the same time as Daum, Schneider and Degué, and the quality and design of his art glass have made his name world-renowned. Can be used in a bathroom, hallway, child's room, bedroom, study, entry foyer, office, dining room, living room, studio or anywhere a striking statement is warranted. This pendant fixture, lustre, ceiling light, lantern can be used in an English country house, Arts & Crafts, Mission, Modern, Rococo, Italian design, Modernist, Industrial, Hollywood Regency, Traditional, Transitional, Eclectic, Rustic, Mediterranean space as country elegance...
