An early 20th century Anatolian terracotta oil jar from Western Turkey, hand-thrown and traditionally fired, now converted into a sculptural table lamp. This vessel was used for storing olive oil or water, with its rounded body and stable base designed for everyday use. The defining feature is the glazed rim, finished in a deep green glaze applied to strengthen and seal the lip during use. This sits in contrast to the unglazed body below, where the terracotta shows a naturally developed patina with tonal variation across warm clay and darker areas formed through firing. Subtle pitting and surface markings are visible throughout, adding depth without overwhelming the form. The proportions are full and grounded, with a broad body and slightly narrowing base, giving the piece a strong, balanced silhouette.
