Golfwave Chair by Jake Rollins
By Rossana Orlandi
Located in Milan, IT
GolfWeave uses cord and discarded golf balls to explore atomic geometries which are hacked and distorted to make functional objects. These golf balls are arranged as if they were each atoms of carbon. Hexagonal groups of six balls each share one border to make flat surfaces, while pentagons and heptagons are placed strategically to distort and warp, giving rise to the formation of seats, legs, arms and rests. These curves are the same ones we see in isolation in carbon and all of her allotropes. Nanotubes, nanocones, graphene and various fullerenes are hacked, combined and enlarged to a human scale...

Australian Sydney Harbour Bridge design Painting 1932
By Douglas Annand
Located in Seaford, GB
Sydney Harbour poster Sydney Harbour Bridge poster design Attributed to Douglas Annand in our opinion, this was an original drawing for the 1932 poster competition. In 1932, the poster competition committee asked Douglas Annand and Arthur Whitmore to collaborate together to produce the now-famous 19th March 1932 poster. There are clear similarities between ours and the collaborative poster. Our design clearly shows more of an Art Deco and feminine design, as opposed to the more masculine, collaborative Sydney Harbour Bridge poster design. Our drawing is Gouache on paper laid down on the artist's board. The drawing is in the original frame and mount, dated March 1932 and is unsigned. BIOGRAPHY Douglas Shenton Annand (1903-1976), graphic designer and artist, was born on 22 March 1903 at Toowoomba, Queensland, the third child of Frederick William Gadsby Annand, accountant, and his wife Helen Alice, née Robinson, both Queenslanders. Having taken the commercial course at the Central Technical College, Brisbane, in 1920, Douglas j...

TH Brown Danish Bar Stool in Light Ash - Australian Iconic Designer Piece
By Peter Brown (Australian)
Located in Adelaide, SA
The TH Brown Danish bar stool was designed by Peter Brown and first manufactured from early 1960, and remains an iconic, timeless Australian design masterpiece to this day. The beautifully sculpted timber seat back, angled legs and hand stitched upholstery remain as contemporary as the day they were first designed. These iconic stools are the among the most coveted Australian mid-century pieces ever produced. The original examples have become heirlooms and are seen in many magazines, exhibitions, and design showrooms around the world. Hand finished by expert craftsmen it features solid timber frame, the finest Italian leather and the highest quality materials throughout. All timbers and leathers are ethically sourced. These stools will be a design statement in any contemporary or mid-century themed kitchen, bar, or office. They are individually numbered and certified, offering the purchaser an ideal heirloom piece for future generations. TH Brown remains Australia’s oldest operating furniture brand - established in Adelaide, South Australia in 1911. From the 1950's, TH Brown produced many of the most sought-after mid-century furniture pieces ever produced in Australia. The most famous designs were the iconic ranges of Bar Stools, Coffee Tables and Dining Chairs, amongst many others - produced in Adelaide from the mid 1950's through to the 1980's. Our most collected pieces have now been re-issued for the world to enjoy! Every piece is produced under the careful eye of the 3rd generation of TH Brown’s family and each piece is hand finished to the same exacting standards as the original craftsmen. These unmistakable pieces are not replicas and remain the gold-standard of Australian furniture...
