Handcrafted from solid walnut, the seat is elegantly curved in contrast with the structured back, which is supported by transparent acrylic and acts as an interactive picture frame to capture the ever-changing environment in which it sits. Captivating and intriguing the Wood Float Bench can stand alone with its beautiful exposed walnut finish or can be adorned with custom cushions in a variety of fabrics for additional support and comfort.
The Wood Float Bench is part of the Float Collection, originally designed by Lauren Rottet, when she bought the George Nelson house in Montauk and needed furniture that fit in with the mid-century modern hand crafted aesthetic and freed the spaces from visual clutter, allowing the inhabitants to see past the furniture to the architecture of the space, keeping the atmosphere lighter and more airy.
