This item was obtained during the auction "The Personal Property of Marilyn Monroe" held on October 27 and 28, 1999, at Christie's in New York. It can be traced back to page 302, lot 435 of the auction catalog. The authenticity of the sofa is absolutely certain. The auction invoice, as well as the image in the original 1999 auction catalog, clearly prove it.
