This set of four armchairs is an absolute icon of Central European interwar design and one of the most sought-after seating models from the Art Deco / early modernist era in Czechoslovakia. This is the legendary Model H269, designed by the celebrated designer Jindřich Halabala for the renowned UP Závody furniture factories. Famed for its fluid, dynamically sculpted lines and unmatched ergonomics, this design remains a definitive symbol of sophisticated interwar living.
The entire set has undergone a comprehensive professional restoration, executed with the highest regard for authentic period craftsmanship. The signature, sweeping armrests made of solid bentwood beech have been meticulously treated, and the original wood polish has been fully revived, beautifully showcasing the natural grain and rich, warm tone of the wood. The interior structures received completely new professional coil-spring upholstery, restoring the original firmness, resilience, and supreme seating comfort. The chairs have been newly upholstered in a premium light grey textile, handsomely finished with contrasting black piping along the edges, which sharply accentuates the iconic silhouette and geometric grace of Halabala's design.
