Art Deco Walnut Sofa with Pull-Out Daybed Function, Prague, 1930s Elegant Art Deco sofa from Prague, 1930s, crafted in richly figured walnut and featuring a rare pull-out daybed mechanism. Fully restored and newly upholstered. This refined Art Deco sofa was produced in Prague during the 1930s and beautifully illustrates the sophisticated design language of Central European modernism. Executed in richly figured walnut with a warm, deep patina, the piece combines sculptural elegance with a functional innovation that was highly advanced for its time. The sofa’s curved solid-walnut armrests soften the rectilinear geometry of the frame, creating the characteristic balance between fluidity and structure seen in high-quality Art Deco furniture. The walnut veneer displays striking grain patterns, enhancing the decorative presence of the piece.
