A' Design Award Bronze - Furniture 2023 This piece is a tribute of the work "A Lua" (1928), by Tarsila do Amaral, who played a key role in the emergence of Brazil’s modernism movement, with her unmistakable signature, and its vivid colors and rounded shapes. The painting was purchased by MoMA in New York in 2019, established the Brazilian artist in the scene of the most relevant and eternalized international modern painters. The intention was to recreate its soul, bringing through shapes and colors harmony, through a fluid and organic design. To find inspiration for this piece, we delved into the dreamlike landscape of the work “Composição (Figura Só)”, by Tarsila do Amaral (1930). A strong wind beats down on a lone female figure in a melancholy night landscape.The work is a consequence of her way of experiencing the world and feeling the pain of separation from the poet Oswald de Andrade. We bring a new look to this very delicate moment in the artist's life, giving new meaning to the work through rounded shapes full of movement.
