Abstract expressionism, music, notes, square, bright colors
"Musical Fantasy" is a pictorial score in which color, texture, and fragments of musical notation are transformed into a single sound. The painting is constructed as an improvisation, where each brushstroke has its own rhythm, each splash of color its own timbre. This painting is a logical continuation of "The Violinist." Together with the artist, we move from the visible world to the invisible.
At the center of the composition are fragments of sheet music, as if carried away by the wind or a whirlwind of inspiration. They symbolize the original source of music, its structure and law. Around these "islands" of order, a free flow of color unfolds: rich blue and deep ochre tones echo with warm, fiery accents. This combination creates an effect of movement—almost audible, as if the music is not written but played here and now.
Textured brushstrokes, sometimes thick and textured, act as visual equivalents of sound waves. Instances of red and cobalt evoke impulses, abrupt transitions, and emotional outbursts, while soft beige-blue fields convey a sense of pause, of breathing. This contrast creates an internal rhythm comparable to jazz improvisation: free yet harmonious.
The painting's spatial organization is also intriguing: the sheet music seems to float weightlessly, surrounded by a swirling orchestration of color. Because of this, the viewer perceives the work not as a flat object, but almost kinetically, immersed in its internal dynamics.
"Musical Fantasy" is not an illustration of music, but a pictorial interpretation of it. The painting conveys the very nature of creativity: the moment when sounds transform into images, and emotions into color. It opens up a space for associations, inviting the viewer to hear their own melody within the pictorial chaos, which ultimately proves surprisingly harmonious.
The painting is ready to hang on the wall and comes with hooks, the sides are painted dark.
