About the Item

The abstract painting "World in Reflections" reveals one of the key themes of Anna Shesterikova's work—the idea of reality as a multilayered, fragmented, and simultaneously coherent space. This work straddles the line between painting and object art: the use of resin transforms the surface of the painting into a mirrored membrane, where the image not only exists on its own but also interacts with the surrounding world. The composition is constructed from rhythmically organized verticals and rectangular color fields, reminiscent of reflections of the urban environment in the glass of skyscrapers or shop windows. There is no literal depiction, but rather a sense of an architectural landscape, as if seen through rain, fog, or a layer of time. The forms seem to dissolve and reassemble, creating an effect of constant movement. The color scheme is complex and refined: warm ochres, golden, and creamy hues interact with cool gray-blues and graphite tones. This contrast imbues the work with inner tension and depth, creating a sense of light piercing through the dense fabric of space. The resin pouring enhances the sense of reflection and multidimensionality: highlights, teardrop-shaped textures, and zones of optical distortion appear on the surface. The viewer sees not only the painting but also themselves, immersed in its visual field—thus, the theme of "reflections" becomes not only metaphorical but also physically tangible. "World in Reflections" is a meditation on how we perceive reality: through layers of memory, emotion, visual distortions, and personal experience. The painting offers not an image of the world, but an experience of it—flickering, shimmering, and constantly changing with the viewer. The painting is ready for hanging on the wall and comes with hooks. It will fit perfectly into a modern space.
