"Dreams. Three Worlds" is one of Anna Shesterikova's most conceptually rich works, in which painting becomes a language of revelation. The painting was born from a dream, and this dreamlike nature is felt in its composition: space is torn, as if the world is experiencing a moment of metaphysical tension, where the familiar boundaries between realities are erased.
The canvas is constructed as a clash of three energy zones. In the upper part is an almost blinding stream of white, shining light, an immaterial force. It descends to the earth, breaking through space, like the intervention of another, higher reality.
The lower layer, dark and heavy, is painted in deep earthy and black tones. It is perceived as a world of hidden, underground energies—a space from which something disturbing and uncontrollable arises. These dark masses are not static: they seem to boil, gathering into tense clots, ready to be ejected.
Between these poles unfolds the painting's main dramatic layer—a fiery red. This is the human world. Red here isn't the color of blood or emotion; it's the color of choice, will, and responsibility. It flares up like a battlefield between light and darkness, between the upward thrust and the downward pull. The harsh diagonal brushstrokes and splashes of paint create a sense of continuous conflict, with no neutral zone.
The spattering technique, fluid layers, and sharp brushstrokes intensify the sense of a catastrophic moment, as if the very fabric of the canvas is undergoing an internal fracture. Acrylic painting functions here as energy: it acts, creating a tense field that draws the viewer into it.
"Dreams. Three Worlds" is not an illustration of an apocalyptic plot, but a visual manifesto. The painting suggests that the struggle between Light and Darkness occurs not somewhere external, but within human space—in every decision, in every moment. And so the red world, the world of man, the world of people, becomes the central arena of this cosmic drama.
This work offers no consolation—it poses a question. And, like any true work, it leaves that question open, addressed directly to the viewer.
The painting is ideal for decorating a large wall in a modern interior.
