Here is a natural Jadeite Jade and diamond pendant with excellent best imperial green color. It is certified by 2 different labs. The pendant is set in 18k white gold and natural diamonds. The untreated / un-enhanced natural jade is full of life. The color is imperial green (best color). This vivid imperial green is even through out the jade. The pendant is beautiful. Photos do not do this pendant justice. Please refer to the detailed photos. A 18k white gold chain is attached to the pendant. The chain is adjustable in length at around 16, 15.5 and 15 inches. A STATEMENT piece for your consideration. The pendant is certified natural nephrite jade. It can be worn using both sides for two different looks. This jade is very well carved and well hollowed. On one side you can see a dragonfly and a flower and on the other is a butterfly and a flower. This well hollowed carving is not easy to do. In fact it is very difficult to do to this high standard. It’s mainly considered as a symbol of serenity, tranquility, and purity. It’s a stone that’s believed to bring in good luck, friendship, peace, and harmony. They also symbolize perfection because of their indestructibility. ............................................. TYPE OF JADEITE Type A Jadeite – Natural form We consider this as the only accepted form that jadeite should be. Type A natural jadeite means that the subject qualifies to be free of any form of chemical treatment. As part of the polishing process, coating the jadeite with colorless wax is accepted so long as it does not damage the crystalline structure of the subject. After fine polishing, the jadeite item is dipped in heated wax of liquid form and once cooled down it is buffed to give a smooth lustrous look much like the process of car waxing. Type B Jadeite – Chemically treated and resin infused Type B jadeite means that the subject has been soaked in acid which removes impurities or oxidation stains producing a “bleaching” effect. This process lightens the color of many materials including jadeite and leaves many holes or micro craters inside throughout the subject. Next, it is placed into a vacuum chamber where polymer resins are infused into it and after the final polish, the treated jadeite looks smooth and lustrous in color. Unfortunately, the appearance of Type B jadeite can change and deteriorate over time. The polymer resin can discolor and oxidize when exposed to heat and sunlight and turn yellowish.
